Downsizing Traveller
With their youngest child in University and a love for travel, this couple downsized into a condo. The selected space is in a great location in Tuxedo, but was dated and had a small, dark kitchen. The kitchen was re-planned and opened to the living/ dining area. Custom cabinets, including a pantry, a small appliance center, lit display cabinets and pullout liquor storage were incorporated, and were stained dark to contrast with the light floor tiles, white engineered quartz countertops, and a fabulous natural limestone backsplash. Hardwood was installed throughout the entry, living and dining areas; and a bulkhead with recessed lighting frames the living room. The tiny main bath was maximized with faux white marble tile, clear shower glass, and a floating vanity. The tub in the en suite was replaced with a shower, and the space was glamorized with faux travertine tile and a custom vanity. This project won a 2017 MASI Award | Manitoba Alberta Saskatchewan Interiors Award.
